School Reopening Info Page

What is Phase 1?

This is the first step in the reopening of our schools and it is where we currently are.  During Phase 1, small groups of students MAY be invited on campus in small groups to work with staff.  The focus for these groups will be on our neediest and our youngest learners.  Phase 1 will affect less than 10% of students.  See the "SDUSD Phased Implementation" slideshow below for more information.

What is Phase 2?

Phase 2 is the next step in SDUSD's reopening plan.  Phase 2 will give all families the option of sending their child(ren) back to school for approx. 3 hours per day, 4 days per week. During Phase 2, all school staff will return. Classrooms will be split into an AM cohort and a PM cohort, resulting in class sizes of approx 10 students per cohort. Your child would remain with their existing teacher.  If a family chooses to keep their child at home, their child will also remain with their existing teacher and will participate in lessons via Zoom.  Classwork will be distributed via Seesaw, Google Classroom, etc. Our hope is for SDUSD to begin Phase 2 in January or February 2021. See the "SDUSD Phased Implementation" slideshow below for more information.
