Happy Holidays!
Dear Loma Portal community.....
Happy Friday! As always, I hope this email finds you and your loved ones healthy and well. I wanted to take a moment to wish you all the happiest of holidays and a Happy New Year! I know we all have so much to be thankful for in our lives but as we all know, 2020 has been quite a trying year. It seems like ages ago when we were last together on our beautiful, historic campus. With each positive report of successful vaccinations, I feel more and more hopeful that one day soon, I will be greeting you all as you and your children re-enter our campus. And trust me, when that day comes, you all better believe the energy level at our school is going to be off the charts. I know we are all looking forward to the day we get back onto campus, but for now let us take advantage of this upcoming well-deserved break. Online teaching and online learning is difficult and I think your children are in need of an extended brain break. We all are for that matter! Let us get away from those screens and enjoy some of this amazing San Diego December weather! The holidays give us an opportunity to do just this…to pause our busy lives, to reflect on our accomplishments, and to recharge our batteries.
2020 has been a year like no other. This year has had its most difficult moments. It has had its fair share of positives as well. In 2020, I have witnessed our LPE community truly come together as a family to support each other, never losing sight of our purpose… our children. December has always been a time of reflection for me personally, and this year, from the very bottom of my heart, I would like to graciously thank you all for what you have done and all that you will do in the coming year to support our students. We are a family here at Loma Portal and I am proud to be a part of the LP family. While the New Year will continue to bring challenges as well as opportunities, I know that we will be even stronger once we get past this difficult time. Our students will be more tech-savvy and resilient. Our LPE family members will be pros in the California State Standards and the ins and outs of the Common Core. And our staff will have more technological strategies, tips, tricks, and apps than they know what to do with. Let us continue to support each other. Let us continue to celebrate each other and take pride in the accomplishments of all the members of our LPE family. You continue to amaze me with your commitment and dedication and I look to forward to the opportunities that 2021 will bring! Happy Holidays all!
