November Events, etc.

Good morning families! As many of you have noticed, I have been out of commission for the past several days. I unfortunately tested positive for COVID last week and have been unable to come in to work.Luckily, I will be back at school tomorrow. I am so sad to have missed all the fun last week (I heard our Monster Bash was a huge success!) but I am looking forward to finishing 2022 strong! See below for a few quick updates. I am looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

  2. Tomorrow (11/2), our school cafeteria will be participating in “Plastic Free Lunch Day USA”! This important climate action was started by students in New York City due tothe harmful effects of plastic on the environment that happens every day. Tomorrow, our cafeteria will not be offering plastic eating utensils or food containers.
  3. On Friday 11/4, our school will be doing our first emergency preparedness drill. This drill will require our classrooms to be evacuated, similar to an earthquake or fire drill, but will last slightly longer. The purpose of this drill is to prepare ourselves for a large-scale incident such as a major earthquake.
  4. Parent-Teacher conferences are coming up (11/15-11/18)! For these conferences, parents will be given the choice of doing an in person conference or meeting via Zoom. Teachers will be contacting parents soon. To help parents prepare for these conferences, our school district is offering some free parent workshops (via Zoom) this week. Flyers can be found here: ENGLISH or SPANISH.
  5. Trimester 1 report cards will be available beginning 11/14/22 via the Powerschool Parent Portal. Don’t have an account? See below for some jobaids. If you need your child's Access ID, please email me at [email protected].
